St. Peters Street, Wallingford -External Lime Render and Decoration

The south facing and part of the east facing walls of this period property had a number of damp problems. The house had seen some movement and a local builder had re-rendered the house in sand and cement. The cement render had cracked as the house settled further, allowing rain water in. The render also carried straight into the ground, bridging the damp proof course causing rising damp.

We replaced all the damp effected areas with lime render (no chemicals required), completed with railed detailing, which was in keeping with the rest of the existing render. The render on the south wall was an untidy cement render and was replaced on agreement. The lost architrave around the ground floor window was milled and reinstated. The entire house was then decorated with breathable paint.

The Breathable House Company returned to this property three years later to install coving and the owners where happy to announce that their walls where dry and they had no damp problems.
